China Tourist Visas, also known as L Visas, are issued to travelers for the purpose of sightseeing and tourism. It authorizes citizens of certain countries to stay in China for up to 60 days. Because of the nature of the visa, it cannot be extended or changed for another type of visa.

Required Documents

  1. Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application.
  2. Completed Visa Application form.
  3. Passport size photo.
  4. Proof of return travel.
  5. Proof of available funds.

Additional Materials

  1. Tourist Invitations Letter.
  2. Certificate of Estimated Expenditure.
  3. Proof of hotel reservation.
  4. Proof of tour booking.

Typically, Chinese tourist visas are granted for stays up to 60 days, beginning from the date of entry. However, the duration of stay is at the discretion of the Embassy, and may be shorter than the 60 days upon approval. Visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Processing times typically take anywhere between 4-7 business days, however times may vary.
